We’re very happy today to have on the blog one of the most amazing UF author: Amanda Bonilla. Her series Shaede Assassin is just awesome. Indeed, you can read our reviews on the first, second and third book to have an idea of the story. The third book Crave the Darkness is release on March 5th 2013. Don’t hesitate you won’t be disappointed! Thanks to Amanda for this interview.
Nous somme très heureuses aujourd’hui d’acceuillir un très grande auteure d’urban fantasy : Amanda Bonilla. Sa série, Shaede Assassin est juste sublime. Hello ! Thank you so much for being part of our blog today! Can you introduce yourself in a few words?
Hi and thanks for having me as a guest! I’m Amanda Bonilla, urban fantasy author of the Shaede Assassin series, lover of kick ass heroines, a nice pair of black boots, and all things furry (especially baby Nigerian dwarf goats) 😉
When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
I started writing goofy short stories when I was about sixteen. I wrote on and off until I was twenty and then took a long break. I didn’t actually consider writing as an actual career option until about five years ago. Since then, writing has become an addiction. I couldn’t stop if I wanted to!
How many books do you intend to write for this series?
Currently, I have up to book 5 in the Shaede Assassin series outlined. I think the series could go as far as seven or eight books, but you never know. 😉
Was it difficult to write the first book? How long did it take? 
The first book was very easy to write. I was obsessed with Darian and her voice was so clear in my mind. I think I wrote the first 10,000 words in one weekend. The entire book took roughly three months for me to write.
How did you come up with the idea of the Shaedes? It’s a pretty interesting kind of creatures.
Thanks! I wanted to write about a supernatural creature that hadn’t been used. When I envisioned Darian, she materialized from shadow. I found a few descriptions of “shades” in my research but none of them fully matched what I wanted to do, so I just let my imagination loose and created my own mythology for the Shaedes existence.
Darian evolved a lot through the books; did you plan that from the start?
I wanted to write about a stiff, unpleasant, detached character and show her evolution as she learned how to live, love, and interact with others. Unfortunately, Darian has been kicked around a lot on her way to becoming a softer character but I’m happy with how she’s come along.
How did you end up writing Urban Fantasy books? Is there any other genre that appeal to you?
I’m a huge fan of fantasy, urban fantasy, and paranormal. I do enjoy contemporary every once in a while, but my heart is with fantasy. I have an over active imagination and like the world-building and action. Girls who know how to kick butt are my favorite!
Can you tell us a little something about the third? And the fourth?
In CRAVE THE DARKNESS, Darian is dealing with her heartache over her breakup with Tyler. As usual, Xander is busy trying to gain her attention and he keeps her close by hiring her to protect Anya. It’s a prickly situation since the two women don’t get along, but since Anya is pregnant and Shaedes rarely conceive, it’s imperative that she be kept safe.
As far as book 4 goes, it’s outlined, so I do know what’s going to happen. The only thing I’ll say at this point is that Lorik finally makes an appearance.
Is there a character more difficult than the others to write?
Tyler is the toughest character for me to write. For some reason, it’s hard for me to understand his motivations. Writing LOST TO THE GRAY was great for me because it gave me the opportunity to really get into his head. I like him a lot better now.
Who is your favorite character in the series?
Raif. I LOVE him. He’s so fun to write and his voice is really clear in my mind. I’d love to hang out with him in real life.
 
Do you have a favorite book in your series? And Why?
CRAVE THE DARKNESS is my favorite book in the series so far. Though it has its sad and dark moments, it’s the book where Darian learns to quit being so selfish and she becomes less abrasive.
How did you come up with the idea of the novellas?  
I actually brainstormed novella ideas with my agent and editor. From the ideas, we picked the ones we liked the best. This time around, we felt like Tyler needed an opportunity to give his side of the story, and I’m glad I got to write it.
Did you need to do a lot of researches for your books?
Most of my research involves weapons or fighting techniques. I also use Google maps and street view when I need visual representations of Seattle landmarks. The world building is mostly brain intensive since I make everything up and have to take notes so I don’t forget anything. The Jinn creatures are super complex. I have pages that read like encyclopedia entries for them.
Does the inspiration for the characters come from people you know?
Sometimes. The UF series I’m working on right now takes place in my home town so a lot of the characters are inspired by people I know. For the Shaedes series, some of the characters share traits or names with people I know, but that’s about as far as it goes.
How do you find your titles? Did you imagine them all when you started the series or do you brainstorm each time?
Titles are so HARD for me! I agonize over them. Usually, I’ll give the story a working title and then later, brainstorm new titles with my agent and editor. It’s a group effort.
Where is your favorite place to write?
I usually write at home, at my kitchen table or sitting on my couch. But if I need to get away from the internet, I’ll head to my parents lake cabin because there’s no internet or phone service.
Do you write full time? If no, do you hope to eventually do so?
I do write full-time and I’m very lucky that I have a supportive husband who’s encouraged me to do what I love. I definitely don’t live a glamorous life, but it’s a happy one. J
Have you already other plans for future series? Or is it top secret?
I have a short story series currently available that features mountain lion shifters that was really fun to write. I’m also working on a novella series which is more new adult urban fantasy, featuring a college student who also happens to be a damphir. I’m having a lot of fun with that! As far as full-length novels go, I’m working on a new UF series that I love and of course, Darian is always waiting for me to return and write another adventure for her.
Who is your favorite Kick-Ass heroine?
I have too many to list! I love Mercy Thompson, Xhex (Black Dagger Brotherhood), Sin (Demonica) and Limos (Lords of Deliverance). Also, Gin Blanco (Elemental Assassin), Anna Latham (Alpha and Omega), Jessica McCLain… the list goes on and on!
Have you ever been in France?
No, but I really hope to go someday. My husband and I love to travel. Maybe someday, when we’re retired, we can visit all of the places we dream about.

Bonjour et merci de m’avoir en tant qu’invitée! Je suis Amanda Bonilla, l’auteure de la série urban fantasy Shaede Assassin, j’adore les héroïnes coriaces, une jolie paire de bottes noires et toutes choses velues (notamment les bébés chèvres naines nigérianes);)
Quand avez-vous réalisé que vous vouliez devenir un auteur ?
J’ai commencé à écrire des histoires loufoques quand j’avais 16 ans. J’ai écrit puis j’ai arrêté jusqu’à ce que j’atteigne l’âge de 20 ans, puis j’ai fait une longue pause. Je n’ai jamais vraiment considéré l’écriture comme une carrière jusqu’à il y a 5 ans. Depuis, écrire est devenu pour moi une addiction. Je ne pourrais pas arrêter même si je le voulais !
Combien de livres pensez-vous écrire pour la série ?
Pour le moment j’ai planifié 5 livres pour la série. Je pense qu’elle pourrait bien atteindre 7 ou 8 mais on ne sait jamais. 😉
A-t-il été difficile d’écrire le premier tome ? Combien de temps cela a-t-il pris ?
Le premier a été très facile à écrire. J’étais obsédée par Darian et sa voix était si claire dans ma tête. Je pense que j’ai écrit les premiers 10, 000 mots en un week-end. Le livre entier a du me prendre lui trois mois.
Comment l’idée des Shaedes vous est-elle venue ? Ce sont des créatures très intéressantes.
Merci ! Je voulais écrire au sujet d’une créature surnaturelle qui n’avait pas encore été utilisée. Quand je me suis imaginée Darian, elle se matérialisait depuis l’ombre. J’ai trouvé plusieurs descriptions de « shades » lors de mes recherches mais aucune ne coïncidait vraiment avec ce que je voulais, alors j’ai juste laissé mon imagination se perdre et j’ai créé ma propre mythologie pour l’existence des Shaedes.
Darian a beaucoup évolué au travers des romans. Aviez-vous planifié ça depuis le début ?
Je voulais écrire au sujet d’un personnage dur, non plaisant, détaché et montrer son évolution alors qu’elle apprenait à vivre, à aimer et à interagir avec les autres. Malheureusement, Darian a dû traverser de nombreuses épreuves pour devenir un personnage plus doux mais je suis contente de ce qu’elle est devenue.
Comment en êtes-vous venue à écrire des livres d’urban fantasy ? Y-a-t-il un autre genre qui vous plaise ?
Je suis une grande fan de fantasy, urban fantasy et paranormal. J’aime bien un peu de contemporain de temps en temps, mais mon cœur va vers la fantasy. J’ai une grande imagination et j’aime beaucoup les constructions de mondes et l’action. Des filles qui savent se battre sont mes préférées !
Pouvez-vous nous dire quelque chose au sujet du troisième tome ? Et du quatrième ?
Dans CRAVE THE DARKNESS, Darian doit essayer de surmonter sa rupture avec Tyler. Comme toujours, Xander est occupé à essayer de gagner son attention et la tient proche de lui quand il l’engage pour protéger Anya. C’est une situation assez difficile quand on sait que les deux femmes ne s’aiment pas, mais comme Anya est enceinte et qu’il est rare pour les Shaedes de concevoir des enfants, il est impératif qu’elle soit protégée.
Pour ce qui est du 4, c’est écrit, alors je sais ce qu’il va se passer. La seule chose que je peux dire c’est que Lorik apparaît enfin.
Y-a-t-il un personnage plus difficile à écrire que les autres ?
Tyler est le plus difficile pour moi à écrire. Pour plusieurs raisons, il est difficile pour moi de comprendre ses motivations. Écrire LOST TO THE GRAY a été génial comme cela m’a donné l’occasion de vraiment rentrer dans sa tête. Je l’aime beaucoup plus à présent.
Qui est votre personnage préféré dans la série ?
Raif. Je l’ADORE. Il est si drôle à écrire et sa voix est très claire dans ma tête. J’aimerais beaucoup traîner avec lui dans la vie réelle.
Avez-vous un livre préféré dans la série ? Et pourquoi ?
CRAVE THE DRAKNESS est mon roman préféré pour le moment. Bien qu’il ait des momentssombres et tristes, c’est le livre où Darian apprend à cesser d’être égoïste et devient moins énervante.
Comment vous est-il venue l’idée des nouvelles?
Je me suis en fait prise la tête pour les nouvelles avec mon agent et éditeur. De l’idée, nous avons choisi celles que nous préférions. Cette fois, nous avons senti que Tyler avait besoin de donner son côté de l’histoire et je suis contente de l’avoir écrite.
Avez-vous besoin de faire beaucoup de recherches pour vos livres ?
La plupart de mes recherches se font au sujet des armes ou des techniques de combat. J’utilise aussi Google maps et street view quand j’ai besoin de représentations visuelles des paysages de Seattle. La construction du monde est un travail intensif depuis que je l’ai créé et je prends de nombreuses notes pour ne rien oublier. Les Jinn sont des créatures très complexes. J’ai des pages que je lis comme des encyclopédies pour m’aider.
L’inspiration de vos personnages vient-elle de personnes que vous connaissez ?
Parfois. La série UF sur laquelle je travaille en ce moment, prend place dans ma ville natale alors un grand nombre de personnages sont inspirés de personnes que je connais. Pour la série Shaedes, certains des personnages partagent les traits ou noms de personnes que je connais, mais ça s’arrête là.
  
Comment trouvez-vous vos titres ? Les connaissiez-vous avant d’avoir commencé la série ou vous-prenez vous la tête à chaque fois ?
Les titres sont si DIFFICILES pour moi ! Ils me tuent à chaque fois. Normalement, je donne un titre à l’histoire et plus tard, me prends la tête avec mon agent et mon éditeur. C’est un travail de groupe.
Quel est votre endroit préféré pour écrire ?
J’ai l’habitude d’écrire à la maison, sur la table de la cuisine ou assise sur mon lit. Mais si j’ai besoin de m’éloigner d’internet, je vais dans la cabane de mes parents, prêt du lac comme il n’y a pas de réseau pour le téléphone ou internet.
Écrivez-vous à temps complet ? Si ce n’est pas le cas, l’aimeriez-vous ?
J’écris à temps complet et j’ai la chance d’avoir un mari qui m’encourage à faire ce que j’aime. Je ne vis pas une vie pleine de glamours mais elle est pleine de bonheur. J
Avez-vous d’autres plans pour de futures séries ? Ou est-ce top secret ?
J’ai une très courte série en ce moment disponible qui met en scène des lions changes-formes des montagnes qui est très drôle à écrire. Je suis aussi en train de travailler sur des nouvelles qui sont plus de l’urban fantasy, mettant en scène une étudiante qui s’avère être un damphir. Je prends beaucoup de plaisir avec ça. Je suis en train de travailler sur une nouvelle série UF que j’adore et bien sûr Darian attend toujours que je revienne pour écrire une autre aventure.
Quelle est votre héroïne préférée ?
J’en ai trop pour les lister toutes. J’adore Mercy Thompson, Xhex (Black Dagger Brotherhood), Sin (Demonica) et Limos (Lords of Deliverance). Mais aussi, Gin Blanco (Elemental Assassin), Anna Latham (Alpha and Omega), Jessica McCLain… la liste continue encore.
Etes-vous déjà venue en France ?
Non, mais j’aimerais beaucoup un jour. Mon mari adore voyager. Peut-être un jour, quand nous serons à la retraite, nous pourrons visiter les endroits dont nous avons toujours rêvé.

Shaede Assassin, Book 3

Synopsis: Nothing comes easy for Darian. Her heightened powers make her indispensable to the Shaede Nation, but dangerous missions have driven her lover, Tyler, to his breaking point. Darian must salvage their bond, but a new assignment to protect Anya—a fellow Shaede and the first of their kind to become pregnant in centuries—stands in their way.

It doesn’t help that the two Shaedes are longtime rivals and share nothing besides mutual hatred. But when it becomes clear that someone—or something—is bent on destroying the expectant mother and her unborn child, Darian must put her feelings aside and track down Anya’s would-be assassin.

As she probes into Anya’s past, Darian digs up long-buried secrets—and a connection between Tyler and the mission that could destroy everything between them…


Review: I must say that I was really impatient to read this novel, especially with the end of the last one which completely broke my heart. As soon as I had the chance to have Crave the Darkness, I left all my reads and threw myself in this one to finish it in a few hours. It was humanly impossible to put it down before the end, and I was completely swept away by the story. We always want more and more! This book is just wonderful, and each new novel is also better than the last, which is pretty impressive when you consider that I was totally captured by the first two.

I think Amanda Bonilla has an extraordinary talent when it’s about the feelings of her characters. The Darian’s life is really not simple and the author allows us to fully understand what she feels, whether her sadness, joy or even her doubts. We follow her throughout the novel, hoping that things will improve, but nothing is ever that simple. Indeed, after several months moping in her apartment after the departure of Tyler, our heroine is forced to stand up and face life as it continues its course. I must say that Raif and Xander does not leave her much choice in the matter. Both are very concerned by the behavior of our heroine as they have never seen her like that. They only think about one thing, help her to confront her sadness. Her apartment is a like a battlefield, she spends her days in bed, and only thinks of her Jinn who is away from her. Of course everyone has his own method and motivations. Raif only wants to help her to have her as energetic as before while Xander has of course a little different idea. Why couldn’t Darian succumb to his charm now that Tyler is no longer there? (Something that I was very curious to see!)
 
Our heroine will live with Xander to complete the mission he has been given her. Indeed, she must monitor and protect Anya who is now the target of a person we don’t know anything about. You can imagine that this is something she will love to do, especially as the two young women hate each other since the beginning of the series. But a mission is a mission and it’s the only thing that can help her to keep her head above water; this new work will allow her to not constantly think about her ex-lover. But she quickly understands that this story is much more complicated than it seems when she meets the person she seeks. And this story could endanger her and all the persons she loves more she would have thought. This quest also allows us to know a little more about Anya, because it is true that we do not know a lot about her past. And while I do not really like her either, I’m starting to understand her little by little. She is still not my favorite character but we see the person she really is.

It is very difficult for Darian in this novel to ignore the fact that Tyler is not there. She only thinks of him, guilty for what happened and questioning herself at every moment. She hopes to see him again, to speak with him and she is sure she will be able to be with him like before. Or at least she hopes it will be possible to do that, more than anything. But it is very rare when everything works out this way and Darian must understand that by herself. So when Tyler returns, a surprise awaits her, something she didn’t expect at all. Of course Xander will do anything to try to put her in his bed, regardless of the way he uses, nothing bothers him. And although it is tempting, Darian needs more, and she is convinced that the feelings he or she may have, aren’t true. It was terrible to witness her doubts, her panic attacks, her guilt, her desires, her fears. We feel everything deep in ourselves and our heart is broken when we see this person so fragile. I do not really know what will happen to her now, because many events occur here, completely shattering her life, but we can only hope for her to be better. Although she does not realize it, many people cares for her. Some new characters are also introduced as Asher and I must say that this is a person that I really enjoyed. I hope to have the opportunity to see him again and learn more about him. A new threat is emerging and we’re really intrigued about it. I’m curious to know what will happen now.

I think you understand now that I am completely and undeniably in love with this series. This book is one of the best I have had the opportunity to read and I think I can say that Amanda Bonilla is a master in the field of Urban Fantasy. Everything is fascinating; either the story, the world, or even the characters. I only have to wait for more now. If you have not yet had the opportunity to discover this series I warmly recommend it!

Shaede Assassin, Tome 3 

Résumé (traduction personnelle) : La vie est assez difficile pour Darian. Ses pouvoirs accrus la rendent indispensable à la Nation Shaede, mais ses missions dangereuses ont conduit son amant, Tyler, à son point de non-retour. Darian doit sauver leur lien, mais une nouvelle affectation pour protéger Anya – une autre Shaede et la première du genre à être enceinte au cours des siècles – se met en travers de son chemin.

Cela n’aide pas de savoir que les  deux Shaedes sont deux rivales de longue date et ne partagent que leur haine mutuelle. Mais quand il devient clair que quelqu’un – ou quelque chose – est déterminé à détruire cette femme enceinte et son enfant à naître, Darian doit mettre ses sentiments de côté et traquer le soit disant assassin d’Anya.
Comme elle plonge dans le passé d’Anya, Darian déterre des secrets enfouis depuis longtemps – et une connexion entre Tyler et la mission qui pourrait tout détruire entre eux …


Avis : Je dois dire que j’étais vraiment plus qu’impatiente de lire ce roman, surtout de par la fin du dernier qui m’avait complètement brisé le cœur. Dès que j’ai eu la chance d’avoir Crave the Darkness, j’ai abandonné toutes mes lectures et me suis lancée dedans pour le finir quelques heures après. Il m’a été humainement impossible de le laisser de côté avant de l’avoir fini, j’ai été complètement emportée par l’histoire. On en veut toujours plus et encore plus ! Ce livre est vraiment un petit bijou, chaque nouveau roman est d’ailleurs meilleur que le précédent, ce qui est assez impressionnant quand on sait que j’ai été totalement conquise par les deux premiers.
Je pense qu’Amanda Bonilla a un talent extraordinaire pour faire passer les sentiments de ses personnages aux lecteurs. La vie de Darian n’est vraiment pas simple et l’auteure nous permet de comprendre parfaitement ce qu’elle ressent, que ce soit sa tristesse, sa joie ou même ses doutes. On la suit tout au long du roman, espérant que les choses s’arrangent, que tout aille pour le mieux pour elle, mais rien n’est jamais aussi simple. En effet, après avoir passé plusieurs mois à se morfondre dans son appartement après le départ de Tyler, notre héroïne se voit contrainte de se relever et faire face à la vie qui continue son cours. Il faut dire que Raif et Xander ne lui laissent pas beaucoup le choix en la matière. Tous les deux sont très inquiets par le comportement de notre héroïne qu’ils n’avaient jamais vu de la sorte, et ne pensent qu’à une chose, l’aider à affronter sa tristesse. Son appartement est un champ de bataille, elle passe ses journées dans son lit, et ne pense qu’à son Jinn parti loin d’elle. Bien sûr chacun a sa propre méthode et ses motivations. Raif ne veut que l’aider pour la revoir aussi plein d’énergie qu’auparavant tandis que Xander a bien sûr une idée derrière la tête. Pourquoi Darian ne succomberait-elle pas à son charme, maintenant que Tyler n’est plus là ? (Chose que j’étais très curieuse de voir !)
   
Notre héroïne va s’installer chez Xander afin de compléter la mission qui lui a été donnée. En effet, elle doit surveiller et protéger Anya qui est à présent la cible d’une personne dont on ne connait pas l’existence. Vous vous doutez que c’est quelque chose qu’elle va adorer, surtout que les deux jeunes femmes se détestent depuis le début de la série. Mais une mission est une mission, et la seule chose qui peut l’aider à garder la tête hors de l’eau c’est ce nouveau travail qui lui permet de ne pas penser constamment à son ex-amant. Mais elle comprend très vite que cette histoire est bien plus compliquée qu’il n’y parait quand elle rencontre la personne qu’elle recherche. Et tout cela pourrait bien la mettre en péril et tous ceux qu’elle aime. Cette quête nous permet aussi d’en connaitre un peu plus par rapport à Anya, car il est vrai que nous ne connaissions pas son passé. Et alors que je ne l’aimais pas vraiment non plus, je commence à la comprendre petit à petit. Ce n’est toujours pas mon personnage préféré mais on entrevoit la personne qu’elle est réellement.
Il est très difficile à Darian dans ce roman de passer outre le fait que Tyler n’est pas là. Elle ne pense qu’à lui, culpabilise pour tout ce qu’il s’est passé et se remet en question à chaque instant. Elle espère le revoir, s’expliquer avec lui et ne doute pas qu’elle pourra recoller les bouts. Ou en tout cas elle l’espère plus que tout. Mais il est très rare que tout s’arrange de cette manière et que l’on obtienne tout ce qu’on veut et Darian devra le comprendre par elle-même. Et quand Tyler revient, une surprise l’attend, quelque chose dont elle se serait bien passée. Bien sûr Xander fera tout pour essayer de la mettre dans son lit, quel que soit la manière qu’il utilise, rien ne le dérange. Et bien que ce soit tentant, il en faut plus à Darian, qui est persuadée que les sentiments qu’il a ou qu’elle peut avoir ne sont pas vrais. C’était terrible d’assister à ses doutes, ses crises de paniques, sa culpabilité, ses envies, ses peurs. On ressent tout au plus profond de nous-même et notre cœur se brise face à cette personne si fragile. Je ne sais pas vraiment ce qu’il va advenir d’elle à présent, car de nombreux événements se produisent ici, bouleversant complètement sa vie mais on ne peut qu’espérer qu’elle arrive à remonter la pente par elle-même. Bien qu’elle ne s’en rende pas compte, de nombreuses personnes comptent sur elle. De nouveaux personnages nous sont d’ailleurs introduits comme Asher et je dois dire que c’est une personne que j’ai beaucoup apprécié. J’espère que nous aurons l’occasion de le revoir et d’en apprendre plus à son sujet. Une nouvelle menace se profile aussi de plus en plus, nous intriguant et je suis vraiment curieuse de savoir ce qu’il va se passer à présent.
Je crois que vous l’aurez compris, je suis complètement et indéniablement amoureuse de cette série. Ce livre est un des meilleurs que j’ai eu l’occasion de lire et je crois pouvoir dire qu’Amanda Bonilla est un maître en matière d’Urban Fantasy. Tout est passionnant, que ce soit, l’histoire, le monde ou même les personnages. Je n’ai qu’une hâte à présent, c’est d’en avoir plus et encore plus. When that moment nearly comes—and Tyler discovers a trail of deceit that prevented him from protecting Darian—he snaps. He breaks. And he leaves.

Now he must learn to live without her, even as they remain bound to one another. And when a friend of Darian’s faces an unknown threat, Tyler must find a way to enter the fray without crossing paths with Darian.


Review: Ah Amanda Bonilla… what can I say except that she is the author you MUST read! I’ve never been disappointed by a single book in the Shaede Assassin series and they are always better and better. I was counted the days to finally buy that new novella as soon as it came out. So it goes without saying that I bought and read this novel as soon as I could. And what a sublime story!
 
We follow, unlike the other volumes, Tyler, the Jinn we have discovered in the first volumes. I admit, I read book 3 before this one which is placed between the second and third installment but it wasn’t a problem at all. I even think that I preferred to do it that way, it allowed me to highlight certain passages in Crave the Darkness. However, I didn’t really expect that the novel would feature this part of the story, therefore, everything was a big surprise. I thought we would have some answers to the questions I had at the end of Volume 3. But this is actually not the case and I am even more curious now. After the end of Blood Before Sunrise, Tyler left Darian to give her some time to think and to be able to attend the inner conflict that exists in him. I enjoyed this story, it allows us to understand our Jinn and how he became the man he is now, as his choice. I still do not believe that the choice he made was good, but now I understand what motivated him. We discover the events following the departure of Tyler who finds himself swept into a terrible story to save Levy. But that’s not all, we can also attend some flashback, including his first meeting with Darian or the first time he was bounded to her. It was beautiful and very interesting. I loved to learn so much more. It is a story full of small discoveries.
 
A new sublime novel, Amanda Bonilla is a must read!!

Shaede Assassin, Tome 2.5

Alors que ce moment approche – et que Tyler découvre quelque chose qui l’empêche de protéger Darian – il rompt. Il brise. Et il s’en va.

Maintenant, il doit apprendre à vivre sans elle, même s’ils restent liés l’un à l’autre. Et quand un ami de Darian est confronté à une menace inconnue, Tyler doit trouver un moyen d’entrer dans la mêlée sans croiser le chemin de Darian.



Avis : Ah Amanda Bonilla… que dire à part que c’est l’auteur qu’il FAUT lire ! Je n’ai jamais été déçue par un seul livre de la série Shaede Assassin et ils sont toujours mieux les uns que les autres. J’attendais les jours pour pouvoir enfin acheter cette nouvelle novella dès qu’elle sortirait. Alors il en va de soi que dès le 5 Février j’ai acheté et lu ce nouveau roman. Et quelle sublime histoire !
  
Nous suivons à l’inverse des autres tomes, Tyler, le Jinn que nous avons pu découvrir dans les premiers tomes. Je l’avoue, j’ai lu le tome 3 avant ce tome qui se place entre le deuxième et troisième mais cela ne m’a posé aucun souci. Je pense même que j’ai préféré le faire dans ce sens-là, cela m’a permis de mettre en avant certains passages de Crave the Darkness. Par contre je ne m’attendais pas vraiment à ce que l’histoire traite cette partie de l’histoire, du coup tout a été une grande surprise. Je pensais que nous aurions certaines réponses aux questions que j’avais à la fin du tome 3, mais que nenni ! Ce n’est finalement pas le cas et je suis d’autant plus curieuse. Après la fin de Blood Before Sunrise, Tyler a quitté Darian pour lui laisser le temps de réfléchir et on peut ainsi assister au conflit intérieur qui subsiste en lui. J’ai beaucoup apprécié cette petite histoire, elle nous permet de comprendre notre Jinn et de savoir comment il est devenu l’homme qu’il est maintenant, de même que ses choix. Je ne crois toujours pas que le choix qu’il ait fait ait été le bon, mais je comprends tout de même ce qui l’a motivé. On découvre ainsi les événements suivants le départ de Tyler qui se retrouve embarqué dans une drôle d’histoire pour sauver Levy d’un sort assez terrifiant. Mais ce n’est pas tout, nous pourrons aussi assister à certains flashback, notamment celui de sa rencontre avec Darian ou encore la première fois qu’il a lié un lien avec elle. C’était très beau et très intéressant. J’ai adoré en apprendre plus encore une fois. C’est une histoire complète agrémentée de petites découvertes. 

Un nouveau sublime roman, Amanda Bonilla est un must read !!!!
