Shades of Magic, Book 3
Synopsis: Witness the fate of beloved heroes – and enemies.
THE BALANCE OF POWER HAS FINALLY TIPPED…
The precarious equilibrium among four Londons has reached its breaking point. Once brimming with the red vivacity of magic, darkness casts a shadow over the Maresh Empire, leaving a space for another London to rise.
WHO WILL CRUMBLE?
Kell – once assumed to be the last surviving Antari – begins to waver under the pressure of competing loyalties. And in the wake of tragedy, can Arnes survive?
WHO WILL RISE?
Lila Bard, once a commonplace – but never common – thief, has survived and flourished through a series of magical trials. But now she must learn to control the magic, before it bleeds her dry. Meanwhile, the disgraced Captain Alucard Emery of the Night Spire collects his crew, attempting a race against time to acquire the impossible.
WHO WILL TAKE CONTROL?
And an ancient enemy returns to claim a crown while a fallen hero tries to save a world in decay.
Review: I was really excited to get into this third and last volume after a great time with the first two ones! It was the first V.E. Schwab series I discovered and I must say that I am conquered! I really need to get into her other writings!
So we find our dear Lila and Kell in a new adventure directly after the second volume, but facing the consequences of everything that happened will be really not easy! Yes, the war is coming, bursts and conspiracies are becoming more and more present. Our heroes will have to make every effort to save their London and especially to face the creature who is determined to become king.
As I said, I once again had a great time with this novel. How to resist all these colorful characters? Once again the author completely carried me away with her story and kept me in suspense throughout the novel. The book is quite thick and I was a little scared to have lengths, it is not the case and we can read it pretty quickly! The story is punctuated by the action and the events that follow each other at a crazy speed!
It was a very good conclusion to the series and I can only advise you this trilogy, you will not be disappointed!
